"Aging gracefully means being flexible, being open, enjoying change, and loving yourself."

Passionate About Serving Others

I'm Mariama Chisolm, but I go by Mari. I moved to Savannah, GA, in 2013 to start my college career. I started at Savannah State University, where I majored in biology. While in school, I worked as a server at a Continuum of Care Retirement Community (CCRC). This is where I confirmed my love of working with older adults. I transferred schools and finished my undergraduate career at Armstrong State University with a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration. Following graduation, I accepted a job working with children with mental and behavioral health issues. The experience was fantastic because I learned about the amount of grandparents raising grandchildren. During this time, I worked on my Master's degree from Brenau University in Applied Gerontology, earning the distinguished title of Gerontologist. Following that job, I accepted an aging services case manager position. I moved up and now have managerial experience in case management and issues related to the aging population to support my education in aging.

Sage Senior Services was birthed because of my love and passion for helping aging individuals, their family members, and formal and informal caregivers. From my experience, I have identified the lack of support and resources for older adults, and Sage Senior Services aims to be an additional community resource for the citizens of the Coastal Empire and Low-Country . Sage Senior Services also has a foundation, Sage Senior Foundation, that accepts donations to provide assistance and services for low-income clients who lack family support and resources, live with dementia and need overall education about aging and aging-related issues.

Sage Senior Services offers case management services, dementia consultation, traditional consultation, non-medical supplies, decision-making support, documentation assistance, concierge services, transportation assistance, and more.
